315 Bears to ER's Dropped so far!

The Giggles Program was started by Karen Crook and her husband Gary after seeing first hand how easily smiles can be created by a simple gesture. While stationed at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming, their son was admitted overnight to the hospital for dehydration from a nasty case of Rotavirus at the ripe old age of two years old. Since neither Karen nor Gary were expecting to have their son admitted overnight, they packed nothing for the expected routine trip. At that visit her son was given a small, stuffed, hand-sewn comfort pillow created by a local women's group.

He cherished this pillow so much that Karen decided right then and there that if ever given the opportunity she would like to create a similar program of her own. When Karen exited the Air Force and started Mommies Helping Soap & Candle Company, she seized on this unique opportunity to attach this service to her product line and Wa-La! After some tweaking, "The Giggles Program" was born.

This is how it works.
Karen Crook and Mommies Helping Soap & Candle Company dedicate a portion of all Mommies Helping sales to The Giggles Program. Much like the program mentioned above, the money is used to buy toys for children which are then distributed in local hospitals to admitted kids.

Attached to each toy is a personalized, hand-colored Get Well Soon card created by another child (and yes, in some cases, other adults... :0). These Get Well Soon cards are created and collected at arts & craft fairs and distributing retailers of Mommies Helping Soap & Candle Company products in hopes of making these kids hospital stay a bit more enjoyable when there not feeling so good...

In addition to the Bears for ER's Program, The Giggles Program also dedicates a portion of yearly revenues from the sale of seasonal items to sponsor events designed to Bring Smiles to Little Faces. The Giggles Program often funds entertainment and/or craft projects held at various public The Giggles Program retail outlets. Frequently, in an effort to build further community support and community children's involvement in The Giggles Program (and in an effort to reach the broadest children's audience possible), we seek out very public venues such as Arts and Craft Fairs, Malls, Street Festivals, Parks, etc. to host these free or discounted events.
