My time in the Air Force as a Nuclear Launch Officer stationed in Cheyenne, Wyoming, constantly took me away from my children. I wanted to create a business that would give me more flexibility for family time and contribute to the well being of other women in similar circumstances.
With a background in human biology and chemistry, a love for soft skin and not a lot of time on my hands, created several personal recipes based on historically proven ingredients. My logic was simple. I figured if after thousands of years people were still using these ingredients, then they must work well. And I was right.

After a number of years of making my recipes for friends and family as gifts - and after numerous suggestions of starting my own business making these products - I took that leap of faith and Mommies Helping Soap & Candle Company was born in the summer of 2006. The following year I made my departure from the Air Force, after seven years of service. My husband and I then relocated the family from Lompoc, California to Louisville, Kentucky on a very cold five day trip in January of 2007.
Currently, with the help of my husband, we create "castile" soaps, Daily Rinse Soaps, Shea butter lotions, skin creams, lip balms and other good for your skin products. As for the kids, a portion of our yearly sales goes towards The Giggles Program to...
