We’ll its official. We’ve turned The Giggles Program into its own entity affiliated closely with Mommies Helping Soap & Candle Company. Still very much a Mommies Helping Soap & Candle Company subsidiary, we’ve simply separated it on paper and on labeling. Coming soon – its own web site. We have the address already (currently it points to a page on our Mommies Helping site, but it does have a brief description of the program as it currently stands. Check it out: TheGigglesProgram.com).

Why has this happened? We’ll The Giggles Program HAS TAKEN OFF! Were very please to be able to say that as we’ve been pushing it for a long time. Now separating these two programs really enables us to get MUCH more diverse with the two different programs.

From here on out The Giggles Program, will be its own label under which all soap, candle, lip balm, bath salts, etc. will be distributed. This simple act enables us to expand beyond just skin and candle products. ALSO, as this program becomes even more popular, in addition to our Toys to ER’s program, were looking to expand into other areas that will further enable us to bring smiles to even more little faces. Activities such as Rug rats at the Zoo visits, Crazy Kids at Six Flags program, A Day at the Ball Park (baseball games), Munchkin Matinee’s (movies), etc.

Now the Mommies Helping Soap & Candle Company will become the “mother” organization – if you will :0) In addition to administering all The Giggles Program business and marketing activities, we’re looking to expand this program further into Mommies Fundraising Home Parties. Here we send a representative to the party house to stock and supervise the production of selected skin products chosen by the party attendees for fundraising activities. The purposes of these parties is not only to fund the further activities of the “Bringing Smiles to Little Faces” programs, but also to create products by the mommies themselves which are then sold by these same mommies (and their kids we assume…) to raise monies for their selected cause(s). These causes could be as big as fighting Muscular Dystrophy, or as small as buying children’s books and tapes for their local libraries children’s section or as simple as buying new soccer uniforms their kids local youth league.

We’ve had a lot of success with this lately and a lot of interest in this type of activity in the future. We feel this fundraising home party idea is a perfect match for the Mommies Helping mother organization and mommies that really want to get their hands dirty and make a difference in their local communities. We’re very excited about this and look forward to sharing with you future success stories.

Please give us you opinion on The Program. I appreciate feedback, both good and bad.

We’d like to extend a very public and warm welcome to our newest distributor a lovely boutique located at 107 S. Bayly Street (Frankfort Ave in Crescent Hill, Louisville Kentucky). So if you are in the area, go by and check out South Bayly Boutique and see the fine merchandise they have to offer.

I got a great idea for a new contest just in time for Valentines Day.  I was talking to a Mommy the other day and we were discussing the lamest gifts given on Valentines Day and she had a pretty good and humorous story (sorry JAM you are excluded from the contest).  She received a cooler for Valentines’ Day, a COOLER!  Then, to top that off on her birthday she received the matching water jug!   That is pretty lame and funny to boot.  Now, give me your lamest gift story and win a basket (the picture shown) with some great goodies: 4oz Jasmine Lotion, 4oz Fruit Cake of Raspberry Delight, 2 lip balms (Mango Fandango and Winter Mint Blast and 2 trial sizes of our upcoming product of All Natural Soap bars.
Your homework is due by February 9th…so get to typing.

Yes I know I wrote about this a few weeks ago but I have to bring it up again because of what happened last week.  I think those Italian charm bracelets are real cute and I was wanting to get one with my children’s names on it for a present to myself for my birthday.  Well I ran into a kiosk in a store selling them but I didn’t have the time at the moment to purchase one and I told the lady I would be back the next day.  She replied, great I look forward to seeing you but I leave at 2:30.  Well I show up the next day, with cash in hand to purchase a bracelet that looks like it would have cost $50-60 and she was packing up her stuff…it was 2:00!  I told her I already knew what I wanted but she replied here is my card and you can order it off my web site.   Does she really think I will order from her now?

If I was in her shoes I would have taken the time to put together a sell.  It would have benefited her in the end.  It a customer is happy with a purchase that customer will go out of their way to say where she/he bought such an item and I would have referred her to other ladies INSTEAD she left me out to hang with money burning a hole in my pocket.  Plus, I have brought this instance up to my friends and family and they are put off to the situation as well.  Not to mention it has bugged me for a week so now I had to bring it up to you.  If you where in her shoes what would you have done?  Make the sell or walk away?

Here is an article on how to deal with bad customer service  if you are put in this situation.  It seems like today it is expected to receive bad customer service but let’s put an end to it!

Let’s unite!  Because of late interest in our contest on bad customer service, we have decided to extend the deadline to November 1st so get your stories in and share them with the readers.  Remember the winner receives 4oz of our Peppermint Foot Massage, our best selling product to date.

Picture this: you read a write up of a product and it sounds kina cool but you haven’t heard of the company….you’re “unsure of the unknown.”  You wish you could just try a little bit before you spend $10-12 dollars.

That’s why this month I have introduced a new product.  Well it is not a new product per sey, but a new option to products at Mommies Helping Soap & Candle Company.  You can buy penny samples to try the product out before you buy.  That’s right you can buy up to 5 samples for one penny per product plus the shipping cost of five dollars.  You get to pick the product but there’s a catch.  If you are buying a product at regular cost you cannot pick that product as a penny sample.  That’s it.

Also while you are at it, for just another $.99 cents you can try this month’s special of Lime in the Coconut lip balm.  A great way to soften that kisser!

What has happened to customer service? How many times in the last month have you been let down by customer service? I have personally lost count. I recently went into a local hardware store looking for a specific item. The front cashier was fiddling with her nails. I asked her where I might start looking for such an item. The response I received was “I don’t know. You might want to ask the guys in the back.” Then she went back to her nails, I knew it was up to me to ask the guys in the back.

Is this good customer service in today’s world? What has happened? I know this is not the service I want, so it will not be the customer service at Mommies Helping. It seems the world is changing its standards for customer service or another way to look at it, the customers expectations have changed about customer service. We expect bad to poor service today and it is fine because it is the norm, so He Who Owns Customer Service Will Own the World!

Lets have a contest: I invite you to give me your story of bad customer service. The winner will receive the most popular item to date, 4 ounces of the Peppermint Foot Massage cream. So go ahead and let’s hear about your experience. You have until 1 October 2006 to post your story.

Unfortunately, I too was raised with limited “family time.” My mother was single (divorced) and raising me and my brother working two (and the occasional third) job(s). I know it was not your fault mom; it’s just the way it was at the time.

Today it seems family time isn’t lost so much to a second job but to activities formulated to attack boredom in their children. These, as we all know can - and does - go to extremes. You know the families: Soccer, three times a week, jazz, tap dance and gymnastics filling any other void that might present itself.

I hate to admit it, but I am finding myself in the role of chauffeur more and more these days. Parents are increasingly spending their family time in the car running one kid here and the other kid(s) over there. “Free Time” is being lost to one activity after another, but unfortunately, not with the family.

Or worse yet, the parent(s) might feel the need (or have the need) to work 50-60 hours a week leaving no time for the family. Well, this is the group I fall into; and my feeling is this has got to stop! Or at least change…..

My job in the Air Force continually takes me away from my family and I want to change that. I want to spend more time with my husband and children. That’s precisely why I started Mommies Helping Soap and Candle Company. I started a business that will create jobs and enable me to see my children grow up instead of being deployed half way around the world. I want to be there when they wake up in the morning and for story time before bed.

What we’ve done at MommiesHelping.com is attempt to create a small slice of “Family Time.” By this I mean were are in the process of formulating Soap, Lotion and Lip Balm making kits that can be purchased and created by members of the family on a rainy weekend afternoon. They are simple, they work and they give the creators a sense of pride and ownership. Then all one has left to do is create their own labels such as “The Smith’s Rainy Day Lip Balm Creation” or whatever else you might come up with. Hopefully, through creating these usable projects you all will create lasting memories of a successful afternoon spent together enjoying quality “Family Time.” Stay tuned, soon we will announce the availability of this much anticipated product(s).

In the meantime, we’d love to hear anyone else’s “lost family time” stories. Anyone else out there who has similar stories, please share them in this blog. We’d love to exchange ideas and experiences - not to mention cleaver ways to resolve this daily dilemma of an over abundance of stimuli and the family.

Best,

Have you noticed everything is going Mango these days? The Mango Fandango lip balm is getting some really good attention at the moment with the mango fascination. The lip balm is made with real mango butter that leaves your lips soft and smooth. It has inspired me to make a mango soap with honey. I am using it currently in the shower and I have to say it smells yummy. It not only cleans your body it leaves you with a delightful scent while the honey softens your skin. I am making it this month’s free sample with any purchase online.  If you miss it this month, don’t worry, you will see it soon as a new product on the soaps page.
